“Without God, life has no purpose, and without purpose, life has no meaning. Without meaning, life has no significance or hope.”

Interesting isn't it? This internal battle to convince ourselves of our own significance...
You were created by God for a specific purpose, so don't dismiss your significance. As much as you may doubt it, there is no one else alive today who can fulfill your purpose. And you will remain here on this earth until the very moment God has ordained to bring you home to Himself. And what exactly does that mean?
It means, whether you're 5 years old, or 105 years old...if you are still here, there is still a unique purpose for your life. In the story of mankind and God's involvement with us, we learn a few things of vital importance:
- We are broken, imperfect people.
- At our core, each one of us craves to be known and valued...and we have an insatiable desire to know our purpose for being. "Why am I here?"
- Apart from the redeeming love of our Creator, and the relationship we can have with Him through our Lord Jesus Christ, none of us will fully know or live out our purpose. To steal a line from the movie Jerry McGuire, Jesus completes us. He is the missing piece - the answer to the deepest questions of our heart - and He is the only one who can fulfill this common need that we all share.
You might spend your life seeking significance and purpose, even pursuing success as a cheap substitute for true significance. Success is a poor substitute for purpose. It is empty and fleeting - like a vapor that vanishes just as you think you've finally grasped it.
You are so loved! You were created for a specific purpose that only you can fulfill. The Lord knit you together in your mother's womb - before you drew your first breath, God had designed a life for you, and you only. Regardless of your journey until this moment in time, your life has purpose, and only in relationship with a loving God can you ever fully realize the richness of God's purpose for you. I pray on this Mother's Day, you will seek Him. Ask Him, "Why am I here? What is your special purpose for me?" God is waiting - anxious to hear from you, and to share with you the purpose He has especially for you!
